Arrows of the Future

Instinctively I feel that the arrows of the past point toward the present moment. But the idea that there are like arrows of the future also pointing at the present is mind-boggling.

I am not trying to write a book, but if I were doing so, this would be the first line - ‘In my 35th year I entered the monastery.’ This is only in relation to my attempts to live deliberately. In my personal version of the monastic life, I even need to remember to schedule the writing of the next day’s schedule. If I don’t, I will forget and then be kicked out into the rough and tumble ‘do everything now [or yesterday even]’ life.

And speaking of my 35th year, yesterday was a wonderful day.
